Thank you
for considering healthWorkssm for your health care needs.
To help acquaint new patients to healthWorkssm and our
practices, we have developed this first-visit guide. As this visit
is very comprehensive, please be prepared to spend at least two
hours at this appointment.
During your first visit, you will meet our staff, complete a few
brief forms and, of course, meet Dr. Zeiger. As a family physician,
he will address your current medical problem - and work to detect
or prevent other health problems. We try to make the first visit
not just an opportunity to deal with immediate medical concerns,
but also a time to get acquainted with you.
The
First Examination
When you
enter the exam room, a staff member will take a general health
profile and your "vital signs" (height, weight, blood
pressure, and temperature). Usually, depending on your medical
need, you will be asked to undress and put on a gown in the privacy
of the exam room. This enables the doctor to better evaluate your
health. Dr. Zeiger will review the health profile with you and
determine your immediate treatment needs.
(Please avoid wearing perfumes, colognes, aftershaves, etc. since
many of your fellow patients are sensitive to such cosmetic fragrances.)
Future
Treatment Plans
After your initial examination and treatment, Dr. Zeiger will
suggest a treatment plan and future visits, if necessary. You
might expect to have specific laboratory tests recommended or
medications prescribed.
We hope that after your first visit, you will feel confident that
you've made a wise decision by choosing healthWorkssm.
If you are not comfortable with any aspect of the visit, please
be assured we will listen, respond, and respect your wishes.
